Rhododendrons

There is an extensive collection of rhododendrons in the Gardens. There is the main Rhododendron Collection in a dedicated area just off the ring road and there are two places where you will find big-leaf rhododendrons: at the southern end of the Floral Walk, in the main body of the Gardens, and in a little valley at the lower Shepherd Road entrance - on the righthand side of the path. There are a few more in behind the rhododendrons in the main collection. 

Early flowering varieties will be out in July but some will not be out until December. The big-leafed varieties tend to flower early.
